The gravel rally streak is over, and the WRC season will conclude in October and November with two tarmac events.
M-Sport Ford’s French driver Adrien Fourmaux has had a consistent season and is looking to secure another strong performance in Central Europe.
“It’s nice to be driving on Tarmac again, and we had a good day’s testing last week,” Fourmaux commented.
The Central European Rally could bring surprises with the weather, as seen last year.
“We know at this time of year the weather can be very wet and make the rally very complicated, with a lot of mud getting brought up from the cuts on the road,” Fourmaux added.
Fourmaux has good memories of Central Europe. Last year, he wasn’t competing in the top class yet, but he achieved a strong result in the WRC2 category.
“Last year Alex (co-driver Alexandre Coria) and I finished first in the RC2 class, which was a really good result. We want to do our best this year on this event to get back on the podium, so we’re going to do our best. We’re really pleased to be back in Europe but also back on tarmac,” Fourmaux previewed.
It has been almost six months since the last WRC tarmac rally, which took place in Croatia in April. After the Central European Rally, the season will conclude in Japan in November, where the rally will also be held on tarmac.
