After spending the previous season gaining momentum in the WRC2 category, Fourmaux has come back this year to the helm of an M-Sport Ford Rally1 car. Last weekend in Kenya, Fourmaux once again found himself on the podium, finishing third.

The Frenchman had claimed his career’s first podium finish in the previous event in Sweden.

“It’s been a fantastic weekend; the team have been doing a really good job the whole time. The car has been really reliable, and we had no issues at all with the car,” beamed Fourmaux, who currently holds third place in the WRC standings.

“I was really pleased with that, so congratulations to the team. The result belongs to them as well.”

Fourmaux and M-Sport have been the season’s dark horses, surprising many with their performance. Few had expected podium finishes, but now they have emphatically made their mark.

“We have been sensible, but it has been really positive. For us, it’s two podiums in two rallies and a really great start to the season. We are still third in the championship, so now we need to continue,” Fourmaux summarized.

“We have had one podium on snow, one on gravel, so we just need one on tarmac now,” the French driver hinted, possibly looking ahead to the upcoming Croatia Rally.

Looking towards the Croatia Rally, Fourmaux has every reason for optimism, as his career-best finish in the WRC prior to this season was fifth place at the same event in 2021.

The Croatia Rally will take place near the capital city of Zagreb from 18 to 21 April.
