The WRC stars have spent the early part of the week completing reconnaissance for the season finale. On Tuesday, during reconnaissance for the fourth special stage, Fourmaux was caught exceeding the speed limit.
According to the Clerk of the Course’s notification, Fourmaux was driving at a speed of 69.8 kilometres per hour in a zone with a speed limit of 60 km/h.
The French driver has been fined €225 for his speeding offence.
Fourmaux is the third driver to be penalised for speeding during the Rally Japan reconnaissance. On Monday, the Clerk of the Course issued a €200 fine to WRC championship leader Thierry Neuville and a €300 penalty to Japanese driver Satoshi Imai for similar offences.

Rally Japan officially begins on Thursday with the shakedown and a short super special stage. The stakes are high, with both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships still up for grabs.
Hyundai driver Neuville is closing in on his first world championship title, holding a 25-point lead over his teammate Ott Tänak. In the manufacturers’ standings, Hyundai leads Toyota by 15 points.
Adrien Fourmaux currently sits fifth in the drivers’ championship. He has secured four podium finishes during the season.
