Lindholm, 27, has been driving in WRC for several years. In 2022, he won the WRC2 class championship with Skoda. Mid-last season Lindholm switched teams after signing a deal with Hyundai’s WRC2 team.

In the wildest rumors, Lindholm has been linked to Hyundai’s Rally1 car, but he has not secured a spot for the upcoming season. Hyundai is relying on three more experienced drivers in its third car, Esapekka Lappi, Andreas Mikkelsen, and Dani Sordo, who will share driving duties throughout the season.

There have been some question marks over Lindholm’s future since Hyundai has not yet officially confirmed its WRC2 lineup for the 2024. Lindholm announced on Friday at Riihimäki Rally that he will continue competing with Hyundai’s Rally2 car.

“Yes, it’s true that the plans in the WRC2 series continue this year with Hyundai,” Lindholm said.

“The final details are yet to be confirmed, but I hope that we will be at the start line in Rally Sweden. That’s definitely the goal, and hopefully, it will come to fruition.”

Teemu Suninen, who was seeking a spot in Hyundai’s top team, has also been rumored to take the wheel of Hyundai’s Rally2 car.

The WRC season kicks off on January 25th with Rally Monte Carlo.
