The duo will compete in this year’s World Championship series driving a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 car for CHL Sport Auto.
Lindholm mentions that the final driving schedule will be confirmed later. Before the Rally Sweden, they went recceing at Rally Monte-Carlo as part of their season preparation.
“It feels like the break has been long, though it’s just over three months since the Central European Rally. I’m eagerly looking forward to driving the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 in the season’s only winter rally and starting the new rally season,” Lindholm enthuses.
“The Rally Sweden has always been one of my favorite rallies on the calendar. I’m used to driving in winter in Finland, but this year, this is the only winter rally on my schedule. Let’s enjoy everything the future holds.”
Lindholm completed the preparatory tests for the Rally Sweden last weekend in Jalasjärvi.
“I was really satisfied with our car last season, and I believe a high-speed snow rally like Sweden suits us well. We tried some ideas for car adjustments in the crisp cold weather, as the Rally Sweden will be my first winter rally with Hyundai,” Lindholm states.
“I think our car had good settings, which we didn’t need to change much. Of course, a test is just a test, and we’ll see our real performance in the actual race. The most important thing was to get back behind the wheel, shake off any possible rust from the wrists, and get back into the rhythm required for competition. We start collecting WRC points from Sweden, where we head with confidence.”
Lindholm notes that the upcoming route has quite a few special stages familiar from previous years.
“There’s one new stage, Vännäs (15.65 km) to be driven on Saturday, and a few stages with new sections. In the Rally Sweden, as in all top sports, we aim to constantly improve our performance and thereby evolve to become even better and faster,” Lindholm summarizes.
