Rally champion Rovanperä, along with F1 legends Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard, hit the snow in the third episode of the Ride series produced by Unibet, filmed in the snowy landscapes of Swedish Lapland.
For Rovanperä and Häkkinen, snowmobiling and moving in the snow are familiar, but for the Scot Coulthard, snowmobiling in deep snow initially poses challenges. In the video, the former Formula 1 driver spectacularly flies over the snowmobile’s handlebars into the snow.
“Look at that Scottishman swimming,” Mika Häkkinen laughs at Coulthard lying in the snow.
Meanwhile, Rovanperä puts on a display of his prowess at the snowmobile’s controls. The Finnish star’s showmanship reveals that he’s spent quite some time snowmobiling.
“He makes it look easy,” Coulthard marvels as he watches Rovanperä’s stunts from the sidelines.
On the snowmobile trail, Coulthard also gets a better handle on his vehicle. And when the trio competes to see who can reach the nearest mountain peak the fastest, the result is a minor surprise. Rovanperä wins the race by a clear margin, but in the battle for second place, Coulthard narrowly defeats his old teammate Häkkinen.
The trio’s second snowmobile race is a drag race on a frozen lake. Here, Häkkinen takes the victory in a rematch demanded by Rovanperä due to Häkkinen’s false start.
In the rematch, Rovanperä finishes last, and as a result of his loss, the rally star is treated to a snow wash as Häkkinen and Coulthard stir up the snow with their sleds.
