After Saturday, Pajari is in 11th place overall and continues to hold third place in the Rally2 class.

“Pretty good. Today was definitely a better day than yesterday, with a couple of fastest times. I have to be satisfied with that,” Pajari commented.

“A couple of tire choices went a bit off, not exactly the best. That cost some time, but then there were a couple of stages where the times were really good. It’s always a bit of a balancing act. Overall, the day was very good,” the Finnish driver summed up.

Pajari couldn’t say right off where the confidence for the fastest times really came from.

“It’s all about the little things falling into place. That’s how it happens. I wouldn’t have stayed on the road that well if I had to take any risks. That’s when the best times come, when you drive relatively cleanly,” Pajari reflected.

Regarding Sunday, the weather, or more precisely its prediction, will again play a big part.

“It might rain. But even today many teams took out rain tires, yet nobody used them at any point. The weather here is a complete gamble, it can be anything.”

Pajari had an incident at the end of the last stage on Saturday, which could have ended much worse than it did. It mainly just made Pajari and his co-driver Enni Mälkönen laugh.

“You just have to take these things with humor! Otherwise, this is pretty serious business, if you get scared by them,” Pajari laughed.

“It was just gravel carrying the car. I had tied down earlier there, but this time I didn’t. I thought it would go through, but there was a bit more gravel than expected, and it carried the car. With mixed tires, it always skids more in one direction than you would expect. Such things can happen, but nothing came of it,” Pajari explained about his situation.
