The 19-year-old Pablo Sarrazin is the son of French motorsport legend Stéphane Sarrazin, who has competed in numerous motorsport disciplines, including the World Rally Championship and Formula 1.
While Pablo Sarrazin’s career is still in its early stages, he has now been presented with an excellent opportunity in the WRC2 category. Sarrazin is part of the Iron Lynx programme, which has confirmed that the young French driver will compete in a full seven-round WRC2 schedule next year.
Sarrazin’s season will kick off in January at Rally Monte Carlo. He will also take part in the rounds in Portugal, Sardinia, Greece, Finland, Central Europe, and Saudi Arabia.
This year, Sarrazin competed in local French series, driving both front-wheel-drive Rally4 cars and four-wheel-drive Rally2 and R5 machinery. Next season, he will pilot a Citroën C3 Rally2 car, which he will use in both the World Rally Championship and the French national series.
The Iron Lynx programme collaborates with Citroën Racing, while Sarrazin’s entries in WRC events will be managed by his father’s team, Sarrazin Motorsport.
Pablo Sarrazin achieved one podium finish this year in the French gravel rally championship.
“I’m super happy that Pablo is joining the Iron Lynx family. He had an amazing season where he showed great pace on gravel. A big thanks to Deborah and the team for giving him the opportunity to improve and learn at world championship level,” Stéphane Sarrazin expressed his gratitude.
Iron Lynx, along with the women-focused Iron Dames programme, is making a strong entry into the World Rally Championship next year. As previously reported, French driver Sarah Rumeau and co-driver Julie Amblard will also compete in a full WRC2 season in 2024.
