Greensmith has revealed that he will compete in the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 car in the upcoming season for the Toksport team.
Greensmith, 27, drove for M-Sport Ford’s WRC team until the end of the 2022 but switched to Toksport’s Skoda last year. He finished second in the WRC2 class standings.
For the 2024 season, Greensmith is aiming for even stronger results.
“Instead of finishing second, our goal is to be one place higher and win the World Championship.”
Greensmith has confirmed that he will not start his season at Rally Monte Carlo. WRC2 class drivers are allowed to select a total of seven events for championship points.
This year’s battle for the WRC2 championship is expected to be fierce. Like Greensmith, Oliver Solberg will compete in a Skoda as the manufacturer’s official driver.
On Friday, it was also confirmed that Sami Pajari will start the season with the Finnish team Printsport, driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 car, which will make its WRC debut in Monte Carlo. Additionally, former WRC driver Pierre-Louis Loubet is reportedly set to compete with the new Toyota.
French driver Yohan Rossel, Russian Nikolay Gryazin, and Bolivian Marco Bulacia, on the other hand, will compete in Citroen in the WRC2. Hyundai and M-Sport Ford have yet to confirm their WRC2 lineups for the coming season.
Emil Lindholm moved to Hyundai’s WRC2 team last summer, and Teemu Suninen has also been rumored to join Hyundai’s team for the 2024 season.
