This year, Fourmaux had a breakthrough season in the WRC, competing as a driver for M-Sport Ford. The Frenchman secured five podium finishes during the season.

Speculation about Fourmaux’s move to Hyundai had been circulating for some time, but the official confirmation has now been made. Fourmaux and his co-driver Alexandre Coria will contest all 14 WRC rounds next year in Hyundai’s third Rally1 car.

Fourmaux will officially join world champion Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak as a teammate after the Monza Rally Show, which takes place next weekend. At Monza, the Frenchman will still represent M-Sport, who had hoped to continue their collaboration with him.

However, Fourmaux decided that joining Hyundai was the better career move at this stage. Hyundai team principal Cyril Abiteboul expressed his delight at securing a new driver pairing for next season.

“For the renewed challenges of next year, consistency and stability across all three cars will be crucial. We’re therefore delighted to confirm Adrien and Alexandre as part of our team after their incredible 2024 season,” Abiteboul stated.

For the first time in several years, Hyundai will have three full-season drivers in the WRC next season. During the past season, Esapekka Lappi, Andreas Mikkelsen, and Dani Sordo shared responsibilities in Hyundai’s third car.

Hyundai is still considering whether to introduce a fourth car next year, which could be used to run part-time drivers. In a statement, the team noted that decisions regarding the futures of Lappi, Sordo, and Mikkelsen for the 2025 season are still being evaluated.
