Hyundai confirmed early on Thursday morning that they have signed Fourmaux for the 2025 season. The Frenchman will contest all 14 WRC rounds next year in Hyundai’s third Rally1 car, joining Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak as teammates.

Fourmaux has had a strong season with M-Sport’s Ford Puma, but next year he will compete as a driver for a full-fledged factory team.

“I’m really excited to join Hyundai Motorsport for the 2025 season. It’s a big opportunity for me and Alex (co-driver Alexandre Coria), and we are looking forward to getting started with the team,” Fourmaux enthused.

M-Sport Ford was also keen to continue working with Fourmaux, but the Frenchman decided it was time for a change.

“As a driver, you’re always looking to grow and push yourself, and this feels like the right step at the right time. Hyundai has had a strong presence in WRC for years, and I’m proud to be a part of that for the future. I’m ready to give my best and see where this journey takes us,” Fourmaux explained.

Fourmaux began his WRC career in 2019 behind the wheel of a Ford. He made his debut in the championship’s top class as an M-Sport driver in 2021.

In 2023, he took a step back to compete in the WRC2 category, which proved to be the right move. This year, he had a breakthrough season in the WRC, securing five podium finishes in the Ford Puma Rally1 car.

Fourmaux expressed heartfelt gratitude to M-Sport for enabling his rise to the top of the sport.

“I’ve learned so much with the team, especially Malcolm who has always been taking care of my career and development.”

“I drove an M-Sport Ford car for all of my career since 2017 and I owe a lot to the whole team. We’ve had some ups and downs, but we’ve always been a family who is dedicated to the most demanding sport in the world. Thank you to Malcolm and the whole team for all the memories we had together. This is not a goodbye, but a ‘see you next time,” Fourmaux said.
