Ogier was involved in a head-on collision with a car during the recce. Fortunately, Ogier did not sustain life-threatening injuries in the crash, but the impact was severe enough to cause him to miss the rally.

Ogier’s participation in the Rally Latvia in July is still uncertain. Toyota’s team principal Jari-Matti Latvala provided an update on the French multi-champion’s situation after the Rally Poland.

“It looks like he will have a medical examination on Tuesday. After that, we will know the fate of the Rally Latvia for him”, Latvala revealed to RallyJournal.com.

However, it is entirely possible that Ogier will also miss the Rally Latvia.

“Nowadays, the FIA is very strict about these matters”, Latvala explained.

“If I understand correctly, he has slightly bumped his head. Tests will be conducted regarding that”, Latvala continued.

Head injuries are, of course, always taken very seriously. Ogier will only be on the starting line under one condition.

“It is not enough for him to be 99 percent fit; he has to be 100 percent fit. But that will only be clear after the tests are done”, Latvala stated.
