Rovanperä clinched his first World Rally Championship title in 2022. A year later, he celebrated a second title with co-driver Jonne Halttunen.

In a recent vlog, Rovanperä reveals that he has used the same cap during his championship years. This very same cap has accompanied the Finnish star this year as well.

Rovanperä showed his worn cap to the camera during the final round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux.

“As you can see, this hat is quite worn. It’s dirty all over, and all the logos are pretty faded. That’s because it’s been in the rally car for two years, in drifting competitions, and this year in the Porsche Cup,” Rovanperä revealed.

“We started thinking that this might be one of the most successful hats in motorsport. I’m quite sure no other driver or athlete has used the same sponsor cap for this long. I’ve won two world championships with this. I don’t even know how many wins and podiums I’ve achieved with it. I’ll have to count, but it’s quite a few.”

The journey between Rovanperä and his trusty cap concluded at the Porsche Cup race in Belgium.

“It’s seen quite a few wins and podiums. This will be the hat’s final race. It would be great if I could add two more wins, but at least two podiums would be cool. Then it would have had a long and beautiful life,” Rovanperä mused.

Rovanperä’s wish came true. He ended his Porsche Cup season with a third-place finish and an impressive win in the final race.
