The two-time WRC champion has competed in only select rallies this year. The Finnish star’s season has been a mix of highs and lows—he’s secured four impressive victories but also faced three retirements from leading positions.
In other words, this year, Rovanperä’s story has been one of “win or bust.”
This season, Rovanperä has also had the chance to test his driving skills on the circuit, competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup events across Europe. Last weekend, he raced in the Italian Porsche Cup round at Monza.

Rovanperä’s plan has been to return to a full WRC season next year. He confirmed last weekend at Monza that this plan remains unchanged.
“I think my batteries have recharged, yes,” Rovanperä said, according to Motorsport.com.
“I am ready to come back and race a full season, even though it will be even longer and harder.”
Next year, the WRC will expand to 14 rounds. There will be plenty of work, with three new rallies added in the Canary Islands, Paraguay, and Saudi Arabia.
“As far as plans for 2025 are concerned, for sure I will do the whole season with Toyota in the WRC. I will come back to do the whole season,” Rovanperä emphasised.
But what are Rovanperä’s plans beyond the 2025 season? There’s no detailed information yet, but it seems likely that circuit racing will continue to feature in his future.
“After that, I don’t know anything yet about a possible track program. I would certainly still like to race on the track,” Rovanperä said.
Rovanperä will compete this weekend in the final races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux series in Belgium. He will skip the upcoming Central European Rally next week, and it’s still uncertain whether he will compete in the season-ending Rally Japan.
