In June, it was reported that Rovanperä had ventured into new territory. At that time, the two-time World Rally Champion announced that he and his co-driver Jonne Halttunen had become shareholders in the Jyväskylä-based car dealership, MPS Motors.

Now, Rovanperä has added another iron to the fire. The Finnish rally star revealed on Wednesday that he is also involved in the operations of the Varkaus-based company, RTE-Motorsport.

RTE-Motorsport, which specialises in selling racing gear and spare parts, will see Rovanperä join forces with current Hyundai driver Esapekka Lappi as his business partner.

At the same time, RTE-Motorsport is expanding its operations.

“Happy to announce my co-ownership with Janne (Eronen) and “EP” in RTE-Motorsport. Really excited about this! We are opening a new shop in Jyväskylä soon where you can find the best motorsport gear and parts,” Rovanperä shared in his Instagram post.

The company’s founder, Janne Eronen, has had an extensive rally career himself. RTE-Motorsport has been thriving, with its turnover growing to €4.5 million in 2023.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have Kalle join our growing business. We’ve got all sorts of new and exciting plans in the works, but we’ll start easy with short days so the lads don’t get too tired,” Eronen quipped with a glint in his eye.

Rovanperä is currently taking a break from rallying and focusing on his holiday. It’s still uncertain when he will compete in his next WRC event.
