Solberg participated in the season-opening Monte Carlo Rally, but he did not compete for points In the Alpine Scenery.

Instead, his home race in Sweden was his first points-scoring event. The winter rally went according to plan: a dominant victory and a full haul of points.

After the race, when asked if he plans to participate in the upcoming Safari Rally in Kenya, Skoda driver Solberg confirmed, “Yes. I’m taking this car with me.”

The Safari Rally is expected to be another challenging event for the teams. Its scheduling has moved from midsummer to the Easter weekend, meaning it will take place during the rainy season.

“You can’t prepare for it. You just have to go there, enjoy it and leave it,” Solberg articulated.

However, moments later, when another journalist inquired about his participation in the Safari, Solberg attempted to retract his earlier statement, saying, “I don’t know, maybe. We will see,” offering a more cautious response this time.

The Safari Rally will take place at the end of March in the surroundings of Naivasha.
