This week, Toyota is conducting its preparatory tests for the Rally Monte Carlo near the city of Gap, hometown of the eight-time world champion, Ogier.
Ogier completed his test day in true Monte conditions, encountering plenty of snow but also drier sections.
The local hero’s drives with the Rally1 car attracted many local fans. Ogier demonstrated how to master challenging conditions on non-studded tires.

In the upcoming Rally Monte Carlo in two weeks, Ogier has the chance to achieve an incredible feat. Having won the classic competition nine times, he now has the opportunity for a tenth victory.
The French maestro is once again the favorite to win.
“When I started in this sport, how could I have imagined to try to win the Monte? And now my target is to win my tenth Monte Carlo Rally! I could never have imagined this.” Ogier said according to the WRC’s website.
This year, Ogier will only participate in selected WRC events. However, skipping his home race was not an option.
“The event still has the same magic that it always did for me. OK, you don’t forget the first time you win a rally like this one, but, honestly, the feeling is the same when I can see all of the fans coming and the atmosphere is the same.” Ogier described.
The Monte Carlo World Rally Championship will take place from January 25th to 28th. This year’s rally headquarters are located in Gap.
