Ogier is once again competing as a part-time driver for Toyota in the World Rally Championship this year. The French ace kicked off his campaign by winning the season-opening Rally Monte Carlo, but then stepped away from the series for a three-month break.
He made his return at the Rally Islas Canarias at the end of April, where he finished second. This week, he is back in action at the WRC round in Portugal.
Following Portugal, the season continues with Rally Sardinia. The event organisers have published the entry list, which reveals that Ogier will also compete on the Mediterranean island.
That means Toyota will once again field five Rally1 drivers in Sardinia: Ogier, Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanperä, Takamoto Katsuta, and Sami Pajari.
A total of 12 Rally1 crews are entered for Rally Sardinia. Hyundai’s regular trio – Thierry Neuville, Ott Tänak and Adrien Fourmaux – will take part in the event. M-Sport will enter four Ford Puma Rally1 cars for their regular drivers Grégoire Munster and Josh McErlean, as well as Latvian talent Martins Sesks and gentleman driver Jourdan Serderidis.
There is also a strong line-up in the WRC2 category. Citroën’s French star Yohan Rossel will be challenged by the likes of Spaniards Jan Solans and Alejandro Cachón, along with Finnish drivers Roope Korhonen, Mikko Heikkilä, Lauri Joona and Emil Lindholm.
WRC2 front-runners Oliver Solberg and Nikolay Gryazin will also contest the Sardinian round, although they will not be competing for championship points.
Altogether, 68 crews have entered Rally Sardinia. You can view the full entry list here.
Rally Sardinia will take place from 5 to 8 June. This week’s Rally Portugal gets underway on Thursday.
