Once again, a special stage had to be cancelled after only three cars had driven through, due to spectators being in the wrong viewing areas. So far, three of Friday’s six stages have had to be paused or cancelled for the same reason.

Leading the rally is Hyundai’s Andreas Mikkelsen, who has left Toyota’s Elfyn Evans two seconds behind. Kalle Rovanperä, who joined the rally on short notice, is impressively in third place, just 2.1 seconds behind the leader.

In fourth place is the Latvian surprise, Martins Sesks, who is 6.2 seconds off the lead. Following him are M-Sport Ford’s Adrien Fourmaux and Gregoire Munster.

Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville, the leader of the WRC standings, is in seventh place ahead of Toyota’s Takamoto Katsuta. Sami Pajari leads the WRC2 class.

One more special stage remains on Friday in Rally Poland. The competition will conclude on Sunday.
