In the fourth episode of the documentary series, the focus shifts to the Rally Poland and Rally Latvia held this past summer. In Poland, M-Sport gained an exciting new member as Latvian driver Martins Sesks had the chance to showcase his skills in the team’s Rally1 car ahead of his home rally.
Sesks made an impressive entry into the Rally1 category, finishing fifth in the gravel rally. In Latvia, he contended for an even better result, with a podium position within reach if not for technical issues.
However, M-Sport’s top performer in Latvia was Adrien Fourmaux, who delivered yet another strong performance.
The latest episode of “More than Machine” takes viewers behind the scenes, with cameras capturing internal team discussions before the race. Team principal Richard Millener’s expectations, particularly for the Frenchman Fourmaux, are high.
“Podium, surely,” Millener remarks to Fourmaux over lunch.
“You get too used to it now,” Fourmaux laughs.
“Expectations are going up now, and that’s your own fault,” Millener teases in return.
Expectations for Sesks were not quite as high, though Fourmaux did suggest aiming for a win.
“Nah, maybe that’s a bit too hard. He is going for a another consistent, committed drive,” Millener says, with Sesks nodding in agreement.
Fourmaux, however, adds some pressure on his new teammate.
“That´s victory then!,” says Fourmaux.
The goal wasn’t quite achieved. Fourmaux finished fourth in Latvia. Sesks, on the other hand, managed to exceed expectations. The inexperienced Latvian delivered a solid, consistent drive and might have finished higher than seventh.
