Sesks made his debut in the Rally Poland at the wheel of a Ford Puma Rally1 car, finishing in fifth place despite not having a hybrid unit at his disposal. On his home roads in Latvia in July, Sesks was even in contention for a podium finish, but a technical issue on the final special stage eventually dropped him to seventh place.

According to rumours, the two summer events may not be Sesks’ last appearances in a Rally1 car this season. Last week, experienced rally journalist Colin Clark mentioned in his Instagram story that “we probably won’t have to wait too long to see him (Sesks) again.” Sesks himself shared Clark’s story, further fuelling the rumours.

RallyJournal.com asked M-Sport Ford’s team principal Richard Millener during the Rally Finland if additional events had already been lined up for Sesks.

“We’ve had discussions and chats. However, I don’t have anything specific to say at the moment. Still, it would be nice to be able to do something more together,” Millener commented.

“Absolutely, the work on that continues all the time. We just need to see what might be possible.”

The most likely option for Sesks could be the gravel rally in Chile, scheduled for late September. It has been confirmed that Sesks will not be participating in the next round in Greece, as the entry list for the event was released on Monday.

Following Chile, the calendar still includes the tarmac rallies in Central Europe and Japan.

Update at 14:57: Sesks will not be able to participate in the Acropolis Rally in Greece, as the entry list has already been published.
