The FIA is conducting a survey for fans to find out their thoughts on the WRC.
An independent party carries out the survey. This survey by an independent entity is part of the WRC working group’s efforts to develop the World Rally Championship.
“From South America through the Safari to northern Sweden next week, we will see spectators out on the stages and lining the road sections – this is one of the unique aspects of rallying: the fans are part of the sport’s fabric,” commented Robert Reid, leader of the WRC working group, to Dirtfish.
“Perhaps more than any other motorsport, rallying belongs to the fans. That’s been the case for more than 50 years and we want to see it continue far into the future,” Reid continued.
According to Reid, the survey is about more than just sharing opinions, although the opinions of viewers certainly play a significant role.
“We want to hear from them. We want to hear the views of the people who are watching the sport, be it live, digitally or on television – everybody has an opinion and we want to hear them all,” Reid said.
The FIA’s comprehensive survey seeks viewers’ opinions on all aspects related to the World Rally Championship. Fans are invited to share their thoughts on topics such as the format of rallies, cars, and media-related questions.
The study is very extensive, and its results will be announced at the end of February when the FIA publishes the survey’s findings.
The World Rally Championship continues next week. Rally Sweden will be held on February 15-18.
