The Finnish star enjoyed a lighter schedule this year, taking on a part-time role in WRC. However, his calendar was anything but empty. In addition to competing in WRC rounds, Rovanperä participated in several races in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, tested an F1 car, and entered a few national rallies.

With two world championships already under his belt, Rovanperä’s goal for 2025 is clear: to claim his third WRC title. But will he still have the drive to continue the WRC circuit after that?

Could 2025 be the final season of your career?

“That’s a good question. No it shouldn’t. I still want to continue,” Rovanperä responded during the Devoluy Rally in France.

And what about the energy to tackle an even longer 14-round WRC season in 2026? Could a part-time schedule be an option again?

“I haven’t even think about it yet. I’m just focusing on next year, and I need to see what my feeling is and how everything goes,” Rovanperä emphasised.

In summary, it’s unlikely that Rovanperä will stop rallying after next year, at just 25 years old. But whatever happens after that is entirely up to him. The young driver has already showcased his incredible talent and set a high standard for himself.

Fair enough. Let’s accept his terms – at least for now.
