World champion Neuville kicked off his preparations for the 2025 season at Hyundai’s test area. Rally1 cars will undergo changes next year, as they will no longer feature hybrid units.
Neuville carried out his test in proper winter conditions. Central Finland had seen significant snowfall in the preceding days, and the temperature remained comfortably below freezing.
“The road has stayed in good shape. So quite an interesting day so far, but it’s not over. Even if it’s already dark in Finland, it gets dark very early,” Neuville told to RallyJournal.com in the afternoon twilight.

Neuville began testing the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 car early in the morning and continued well into the early evening darkness.
“We are preparing for 2025 and testing some little upgrades on the car. I have to say, overall it feels good.”
“But obviously, there are the new tyres as well, which is the biggest change for next year. I had never driven on Hankook tyres before, so this was my first time. It was interesting,” the Belgian star smiled, referring to the fact that Hankook will become the official tyre supplier for the WRC from next season.
The 2025 WRC season kicks off with the iconic Rally Monte Carlo from 23–26 January.
