Despite his young age, Nikolai Grjazin already has an impressive number of international rally starts under his belt. Grjazin began building his rally career in Latvia in 2015, and by the next season, he was a regular face in the European Rally Championship (ERC) events.
Grjazin achieved an ERC event win at the Liepaja rally in 2017 driving a Skoda Fabia, and the following season he also gained experience in the Finnish Rally Championship series. The Russian made the leap to the World Rally Championship series in the 2019 season and has since been actively competing in the WRC2 class. His sole class victory to date came at Rally Finland in 2019.
Grjazin has shown his speed, but his career has also been marked by several mistakes. The year 2022 brought Grjazin a fifth-place finish in the WRC2 class.
During the 2023 season, Grjazin drove for Toksport’s second team. The Russian reached the podium four times – he was second in Monte Carlo, Croatia, and Japan, and third in Finland. His final standing in the WRC2 series was fourth.
