Nobody expected much when the private team announced that their drivers this season would be the Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux and the complete novice at the top level, Gregoire Munster.

Of the two, Fourmaux has truly shown his skills in the early season events, securing podium finishes in both the snow rally of Sweden and the gravel rally of Kenya. Fourmaux is even contending for the championship medals, being just eight points behind Hyundai’s Ott Tänak, who is currently in third place.

The rally season continues this weekend in Sardinia, where Fourmaux will start from a good position once again. With plenty of experience in the rally, it is no surprise that team principal Richard Millener has high expectations for his driver.

“We’re now at a really interesting point in the season, where Adrien is locked in this battle for third in the championship, and Sardinia could be a turning point for him if it goes his way,” Millener says.

“He’s doing a fantastic job this season so far, and I think a lot of people are rooting for him now, so I hope we can get another good result in Sardinia.”

For the first time on the Mediterranean island, a new format will be tested, with all competitive action starting only on Friday. Despite this, almost 270 special stage kilometres await, so an easy journey is not on the cards.

“I’m looking forward to Sardinia and experiencing this new event format in real time, we have a very compact but action-packed schedule and I’m excited to see how it pans out,” Millener states.
