Tänak and Järveoja crashed heavily, hitting a tree bottom-first with their car on the Saarikas special stage on Friday. The Estonian star Tänak emerged from the incident with minor bruises, but Järveoja spent a night in the hospital for observation.

Järveoja was discharged from the hospital on Saturday and made a visit to the Rally Finland service area in Jyväskylä. Hyundai team principal Cyril Abiteboul confirmed to RallyJournal.com that Järveoja did not suffer any serious injuries.

Following the Finnish round, the WRC will have a month-long break before the Acropolis Rally in Greece. According to Abiteboul, Järveoja “wouldn’t be ready to return to the car tomorrow, but by the time we head to Greece, he should be fine.”

Tänak, meanwhile, posted a photo on Instagram late on Saturday, showing him playing basketball with Järveoja and some children.

“It was quick finish to our Rally Finland and we’ve had rough times in past events, but most importantly Martin is doing better after yesterday,” Tänak wrote.

“I know I have work to do during next month to be on the level for last events, but I’ll be there and I’ll be on it to give my everything! Have a good summer break and see you in Greece!”

Tänak and Järveoja are still in the fight for this season’s world championship. Before the Rally Finland, the pair were second in the championship standings, eight points behind their teammate Thierry Neuville.
