The auction site Pistonheads.com reports that it is offering Marcus Grönholm’s Peugeot 206 rally car, used in the World Rally Championship in the early 2000s.

The car is red with Marlboro brand coloring.

The auction site details that the car features a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Grönholm secured two world championships with the Peugeot team in the early 2000s. The Finnish driver celebrated championships in the years 2000 and 2002.

The Peugeot now up for auction served as Grönholm’s vehicle, among others, during the 2003 New Zealand rally, which ended in victory for the Finn.

The car has an impressive history overall. Besides Grönholm, the car was also driven by two other world champions, Didier Auriol and Richard Burns. Harri Rovanperä, father of Kalle Rovanperä, competed in it during the Rally Finland in 2002. The car has won a total of three WRC rallies.

In 2004, Peugeot introduced the 307 rally car, and afterward, the Peugeot 206 car was sold to private collectors.

The auction site does not specify a starting price for the car. It can be determined by contacting the seller.

Marcus Grönholm had a long career in the World Rally Championship. “Bosse” still holds the record for the most wins by a Finnish driver in the WRC, having topped the podium a total of 30 times.
