Rovanperä took a break from the WRC after the Rally Portugal last weekend. He has not yet confirmed when he will next compete in Toyota’s Rally1 car, but the most likely option is the Rally Latvia in mid-July.

Rovanperä’s original plan was to travel to Japan at the end of this month to compete in the Fuji 24 Hours endurance race. Earlier this year, it was reported that Rovanperä was set to race in the endurance event with the Toyota GR86 CNF concept car for the ROOKIE Racing team.

However, Rovanperä’s plans have changed.

“Fuji is no longer on the calendar. A few other things came up,” Rovanperä confirmed to RallyJournal.com, without providing further details.

“But the plan is to go to Japan to race something in the endurance series. Fuji, however, is not the first race there,” he added.

Rovanperä’s summer holiday will certainly include racing in Europe. The Finnish star is set to compete in four rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux series this year.

The racing series kicked off last weekend while Rovanperä was rallying in Portugal. The next round is scheduled for June 7-9 at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

“Zandvoort will be my first race on that side,” Rovanperä said.

“As for drifting competitions, I don’t know the details yet. I’ll probably just do some casual stuff. I need to take some summer holiday as well,” Rovanperä remarked.
