The U.S. WRC project is advancing as the country will host a candidate event next month in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Named Tennessee Rally USA, the event will run from June 14-16.

The rally features a total of 14 special stages and will follow the same format as a WRC competition. It includes racing on Saturday and Sunday, with one spectator stage near the city.

Registration for the competition is now open, and up to 45 crews can enter. The event will be conducted under the rules of the American Rally Association (ARA), but it will not count towards the U.S. national rally championship.

True to American style, the opening ceremonies will be grand. They will take place at the AT&T Field, usually home to the local baseball team, the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Chattanooga may soon become the first city to host a WRC event in the U.S. since 1988.

The WRC Promoter has been considering adding the United States to the WRC calendar for some time. Rally USA could be featured at the championship level as early as the 2026 season.

The promoter has promised to reveal more about their plans for the United States next week.
