Competing in Toyota’s new Rally2 car, Pajari navigated through Saturday’s marathon day admirably. He has a lead of nearly a minute over Yohan Rossel, who is the current points leader in the WRC2 class.

Pajari didn’t get through Saturday completely without issues, as he also experienced tire problems during the day.

“Luckily, the issues didn’t cause significant time loss. But this shows just how treacherous it is here,” Pajari told RallyJournal.com.

“The day wasn’t too bad, but it included a lot of different things. After all the twists and turns, the situation is very good.”

The Rally Sardinia conclude on Sunday, with four stages totaling 39 special stage kilometers. Pajari has a clear guideline on how he can secure his second victory in the WRC2 class.

“We need to go the same way as today. We’ll try to service the car thoroughly and keep the same rhythm we’ve had so far,” Pajari planned.

“Tomorrow’s stages are different from today. They may not be as rutted, but they are much sandier. We’ll try to stay in the middle of the road.”
