Neuville made a driving mistake on the eighth special stage on Saturday, and his rally was ruined because of it.

However, the Belgian leader of the WRC managed to grab maximum points on Super Sunday and maintained his lead in the championship.

“We did it on Friday, and we did it today. We couldn’t do it yesterday,” Neuville said.

“I’m still really frustrated about what happened yesterday. We had the speed, and the car was really fast,” the Belgian continued.

Neuville made his mistake in an unfortunate spot where there were no spectators to help.

“I can’t be very proud of this weekend. But this was a great result for the team, and we can be proud of Friday,” Neuville commented.

The WRC continues next with fast gravel rallies. The end of June will see the challenging rallies in Poland, Latvia, and Finland. Neuville is not particularly known for being fast on such stages.

“They are by no means my strengths, but I have shown last year in Estonia and Finland that I have been able to improve. I have already been able to win, so I am looking forward to those races,” Neuville previewed.
