Verstappen will compete in the Tour de Corse Historique in Corsica in October. He will be driving a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RS in the race.

This will be Verstappen’s first time participating in this event during his career. The Corsica historic rally takes place on the iconic roads that are also familiar from the World Rally Championship. As the name suggests, the rally tours the entire island of Corsica.

Verstappen raced in Formula One during the 1990s and early 2000s, and after his F1 career, he has also competed in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. In recent years, however, Verstappen has primarily focused on rallying.

At one point, Verstappen paused his own racing career to better focus on his son Max’s career in Formula One, but in 2022 he started competing in the Belgian national rally championship. Over three seasons, he has secured a total of six wins in national competitions.

Verstappen has mainly driven rallies in a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, but in October in Corsica, he will be driving a beast from a completely different world. The Porsche 911 offers significantly more power.

This vehicle boasts a whopping 330 horsepower and a top speed of up to 244 kilometres per hour.

The Tour de Corse Historique rally is open to cars manufactured between 1947 and 1990. The rally’s route is highly iconic, closely resembling the Tour de Corse held in 1956. The competition includes a total of 17 special stages, covering an impressive 386 kilometres of special stage distance. The event will be held from 5th to 12th October.
