Ogier got to test Toyota’s GR Yaris Rally1 car on Tuesday. However, Toyota conducted the tests on mainland Spain and did not go to the trouble of transporting their equipment all the way to the Canary Islands just for testing. The French ace was able to carry out his test in pleasantly sunny weather.
The eight-time world champion last competed in the WRC in January at his home event in Monte Carlo. Ogier took victory at his home rally and is no doubt aiming for first place in the brand-new asphalt adventure in the Canaries as well.

In addition to Ogier, M-Sport’s Grégoire Munster also took part in testing on Tuesday. The 26-year-old Luxembourger is now in his second full season in the top class. The start of the season has included the first stage wins of his career, but a truly top result has still eluded him.
In Monte Carlo in January, Munster retired on the final day after going off the road. On the snowy stages of Sweden, Munster finished eighth, and in Kenya in March, he came home in fifth place.

The fourth round of the 2025 World Rally Championship will be held in the Canary Islands from 24–27 April. A total of 18 special stages are scheduled on asphalt, covering just over 300 kilometres. Although competitive rallying has taken place on Gran Canaria for decades – and the event has featured on the European Championship calendar for a long time – the Spanish island is now set to make its debut at World Championship level.
