Sébastien Ogier has won the past six world championships. The 2018 season saw him win the title after a fierce battle, with Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak conceding only in the final event in Australia.
Ogier rose to prominence by winning the Junior World Championship title in 2008. From 2009 to 2011, he drove for Citroen, achieving his first victory in Portugal in 2010. Since then, he has secured 70 additional wins.
His streak of championships began with the Volkswagen team in 2012. The most recent two titles were claimed with M-Sport Ford. For the 2019 season, Ogier returned to Citroen, with whom he celebrated a victory at the season-opening Rally Monte Carlo. Ogier competed for the championship against Tänak and Neuville but ultimately finished third.
Ogier moved to Toyota for the 2020 season and immediately won the world championship in the seven-event COVID-affected season. He secured his eighth world championship in the 2021 season. In 2022, Ogier competed in select events, sharing Toyota’s factory team car with Esapekka Lappi.
In the 2023 season, Ogier participated in eight events and claimed three victories. The Frenchman finished the season in fifth place in the final standings.
